Collection: Dry/Compromised skin

When it comes to skin hydration, there are two crucial ingredients you need to know: Hyaluronic acid and ceramides.

Hyaluronic acid is part of a group of substances in the skin called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). Their primary purpose is to maintain collagen and elastin by helping them to retain moisture, and this is what hyaluronic acid does best. It has a unique capacity to hold an astonishing 1000 times its own weight in water, plumping out the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Ceramides are a type of lipid (fat) and a major component of the stratum corneum. Like Hyaluronic acid, they are present in the spaces between skin cells and are part of the 'glue' that holds them together. It works in the space between the cells by filling the gaps like motor between bricks. Their main anti-ageing benefit is that they provide a waterproof protective barrier and prevent Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL), maintaining skin hydration levels while keeping bacteria and pollutants out - vital for clients living in urban areas.
